Australia's premier horror festival is now accepting submissions in the following categories for the 2017 event:
HORROR FEATURES - HORROR SHORTS - H. P. LOVECRAFT INSPIRED SHORTS - ANIMATIONS - MUSIC VIDEOS - SCREENPLAYS
And for the first time introduces a new competitive category: TV AND WEB CONTENT
For over a decade, A Night of Horror has remained dedicated to independent horror film and horror filmmakers. Our ongoing commitment to filmmakers who submit to the festival is that we reserve over 90% of all short film slots and over 50% of all feature film slots at the festival for films submitted through the festival's open submission process. Many festivals source the vast majority of the films they screen from sales agents, distributors, and other festivals. Unfortunately, this means that the independent filmmaker who submits their film through traditional channels has very little chance (and with some festivals, almost no chance) of having their film selected. Since the festival's founding, A Night of Horror has reserved well over half of our programming slots for films that are submitted to the festival cold through our open submission process (ie via Withoutabox or FilmFreeway). We remain very proud of this commitment to independent film and to our ongoing discovery of bold new talent, including those world premiere feature films from emerging filmmakers that we showcase in the festival's LAUNCH PAD component.
It has never been easier to enter the fest with our completely online submission process: DVD screeners are no longer required or accepted.
Enter on Withoutabox and upload your film to WAB's Secure Online Screener service or with a Vimeo screener.
Submit a YouTube or Vimeo screener of your film using FilmFreeway. FilmFreeway's HD upload system is fully integrated with both of these popular online video-sharing websites.
So choose your submission platform and click on the relevant icon above. All festival rules, conditions and fees for A Night of Horror Film Festival are described in full on each platform's site.
