Yes, there will be prizes for the winner.
But the most exciting news of all is that a representative from Lionsgate, the world's leading distributor of horror cinema, will be reading the three finalist feature length screenplays! This is your chance to have your script recommended to the industry.

A Night of Horror at Revelation Perth International Film Festival

A Day of Horror Discussion Panel at Revelation Perth International Film Festival

A discussion panel on the horror film genre will be held on Saturday July 5th from 12pm - 2pm at the Velvet Lounge (next door to the Flying Scottsman) Beaufort St Mt Lawley. Special guests include Dr Dean Bertram (ANOH festival director), Dalibor Bakovic (NSW horror filmmaker) and Richard Wosltoncroft (Melbourne Underground Film Festival, director, anti-censorship campaigner). Speakers will discuss the Australian Horror / Genre Film and it's current state, how to fund a horror film, make a horror film and film distribution on the indie / horror festival circuit. A Night of Horror at Sydney's Canadian Film Festival
Australia's leading horror film festival presents Canada's most terrifying short films!
A Night of Horror is proud to present a bonechilling line-up of Canada's best and bloodiest short horror horror films, screening as part of Possible Worlds: Sydney's Canadian Film Festival. The program features a cornucopia of bloodcurdling Australian premieres including
The Demonology of Desire, the breathtaking chiller from Rodrigo Gudino (founder of
Rue Morgue, the world's best horror magazine). If you're an animation addict you'll tremble in demented delight at Marc Lougee's haunting adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's
The Pit and the Pendulum, produced by legendary stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen.

It Came From Lake Michigan Film Festival winning short to screen in Sydney!
As part of a reciprocal screening arrangement with our good friends at It Came From Lake Michigan Film Festival, A Night of Horror will be screening the winning short from the Wisconsin-based fest at our Sydney festival.
The line-up of films at last year's It Came From was fantastic, and we look forward to bringing the winning film from the 2007 festival to Sydney.
We will announce the winner here, in late October, so check back!
A Night of Horror 2007 "Scream Queen" winner in special People magazine spread!
Attention Scream Queen fans in Australia! Kaja Trøa, the winner of the 2007 festival's
People magazine "Best Scream Queen" award, appears in a special photo shoot in the current issue of Australia's
People magazine (street date of August the 13th). Kaja's prize included $3,000 cash from the generous folks at
People, as well as the fantastic opportunity to be featured in the magazine.

The best Australian short films from A Night of Horror 2007 are screening as a special session at France's Weekend de La Peur (August 23-26, 2007). In addition to the Australian films, Weekend de La Peur (Weekend of Fear) is playing an amazing line-up of horror features and shorts – many of which are European premieres.
