2014 Festival Awards announced!

Sunday November 30 was another sold-out night at A Night of Horror and Fantastic Planet Film Fests, 2014. Following the Sydney premiere of the terrifying Australian horror film CHARLIE'S FARM, the closing night award ceremony took place at Dendy Cinema Newtown.

Some of the big winners this year follow:

HOW TO SAVE US: won both BEST FILM and BEST DIRECTOR (Jason Trost) at Fantastic Planet.

INNER DEMON took A Night of Horror's BEST AUSTRALIAN FILM, BEST AUSTRALIAN DIRECTOR (Ursula Dabrowsky), and BEST FEMALE PERFORMANCE (for Sarah Jeavons, in an award shared with Ashley C. Williams of JULIA).

JULIA also took A Night of Horror's BEST DIRECTOR (Matthew A. Brown).

A Night of Horror's coveted BEST FILM award was won by THE EDITOR, a film that also held the BEST MALE PERFORMANCE (Adam Brooks).

FURY: THE TALES OF RONAN PIERCE won Fantastic Planet Film Festival's INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARD.

I SURVIVED A ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST won A Night of Horror's INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARD.

CHARLIE'S FARM received the special honour of A Night of Horror's DIRECTOR'S CHOICE AWARD.

LOST SOUL: THE DOOMED JOURNEY OF RICHARD STANLEY'S ISLAND OF DR MOREAU took the DIRECTOR'S CHOICE AWARD at Fantastic Planet.

SCHOOLIES MASSACRE won the Audience Choice BEST AUSTRALIAN SHORT FILM award at A Night of Horror (marking the second year win for director Benjamin Morton).
